01 / INTRODUCTION

Koranganatha
Temple

Nestled in the quiet village of Srinivasanallur in Tamil Nadu, the Koranganatha Temple is one of the finest surviving monuments of the Early Chola period. Though modest in scale, the temple is celebrated for its extraordinary architectural refinement, exquisite sculptures, and pioneering design. Built around the late ninth or early tenth century CE, it preserves some of the earliest expressions of mature Chola artistry, making it an invaluable monument for understanding the evolution of South Indian temple architecture.
